Soham is a 3-year-old boy whose teachers at the Cathy O’Shaughnessy Crèche noticed was underweight and appeared very weak. His family faced great hardship when his father lost his job due to the pandemic, making it difficult for them to provide proper care for Soham.

Soham started his crèche enrollment in April 2021 and the teachers dedicated their efforts to protecting his health. They worked closely with his parents, encouraging them to take Soham for a medical check-up and follow through with necessary treatment. The crèche developed an eating plan for Soham which included particular foods to support his recovery needs.

Soham achieved his appropriate weight for his age through two months of proper medical treatment and suitable diet. Today he enjoys good health while being happy and active with abundant energy and happiness. His mother maintains his medical care needs as he develops into an adult.

Soham’s story is a testament to the difference attentive care and community support can make in a child’s life.
