Samirul is a 3-year-old boy from an underprivileged family in the Chitpur community. He lives with his grandmother and sister. His father, who struggles with alcoholism, was abusive towards his mother, prompting her to leave the family. Though she now lives apart, she continues to support her children by sending money to their grandmother.
Samirul showed initial hesitation when his parents sent him to the crèche. He deeply missed his mother and often carried her scarf with him, holding it close for comfort throughout the day. The teachers identified Samirul's emotional state so they contacted his mother to spend time with the children twice monthly for his emotional support.
The crèche teachers provided Samirul with individualized care and emotional assistance. Over time, he began to settle in and looked forward to coming each day. He showed strong interest in learning activities that used flashcards and picture-based tools during his lessons. He demonstrated strong interest in learning about shapes and colors and objects through these activities. The teachers observed that Samirul demonstrated exceptional early reading abilities which he learned at a quick rate.
The teacher implemented creative learning activities and innovative teaching methods which helped him discover rhymes and songs and identify common vegetable names. He started to reveal himself through his interactions with teachers and his development of relationships with his schoolmates.
Samirul displays both confidence and happiness because he discovered his home base at the crèche. The sports day event occurred once a year and he managed to secure third position which brought him and his grandmother great pride. His life story shows how children benefit from caring relationships and stable environments and supportive communities.
