Mina resides with her family in a bamboo and plastic structure which serves as their home at the age of four. Her mother works tirelessly as a daily labourer, cleaning glass bottles to support the family, while her father is currently unemployed. The family struggles with financial difficulties because they have three children while their single income source does not meet their needs.
Mina experienced difficulties with social interaction at the crèche because she frequently got sick which resulted in many missed days of school. Her weak health condition prevented her from participating in physical activities while she showed signs of being tired and withdrawn.
Recognising the challenges she was facing, the crèche teachers began making home visits and worked closely with her parents to support her well-being. Mina received regular medical checkups which led to an improvement in her health condition.
Mina displays intense enthusiasm during her visit to the crèche on this day. She takes part in every activity while becoming more self-assured and happy. She enjoys painting and singing and spending time with her friends. She has developed a passion for education which she expresses through her enthusiastic delivery of rhyming recitations.
