Anamika was enrolled in the Cathy O’Shaughnessy Crèche in 2017. Her parents had separated and her father stopped providing financial support to the family. Despite these challenges, Anamika’s mother and grandmother stepped in to care for her and her siblings, making sure the children continued their education.
Anamika struggled to adapt to the new environment of the crèche during her initial period. She learned to appreciate the colorful educational resources and interactive games and happy classroom environment which the teachers established. She preferred art and craft activities because these activities allowed her to express creativity while building her self-assurance.
Anamika secured first position at the school admission test which brought happiness to her teachers and her entire family in 2018. However, shortly afterward, she was involved in a road accident in the Chitpur community and suffered a serious leg injury. She received three months of hospital care at HOPE Hospital before surgeons performed her surgery which led to her recovery at home.
Anamika showed exceptional determination when she encountered this major challenge. She went back to school after recovering from her illness and she has kept up her excellent academic achievements. She maintains a position as one of the top five students in her class throughout each school day.
The unbreakable determination of children remains intact when children receive proper care and access to opportunities and support according to Anamika. Her dedication and advancement serves as motivation for all staff members at the crèche.
